Spring is almost here on the west coast but winter is desperately trying to hold on for as long as she can! Pretty soon we are going to start seeing the first Gray Whales as they pass our shores on their yearly migration north to their summer feeding grounds in the Bering and Chukchi Seas.

This spring is the 32nd annual Pacific Rim Whale Festival hosted in the communities of Tofino and Ucluelet, British Columbia. Locals and visitors gather here to celebrate one of mother nature’s magnificent migrations of marine mammals as 20,000 or so whales pass by.

This coastal tradition starts off the spring season here on Vancouver Island and we begin to prepare for the longer days, warming sunshine and beach festivities in Tofino and hope to see you on our shores this summer!
